Along with dedicated hours to work on individual studio practices, Oolite Arts recognizes that time well spent in community with fellow artists is crucial in furthering artistic lives. Oolite Arts’ Home + Away offers Miami-Dade based artists opportunities to participate in some of the most important artist residencies in the country. She has exhibited nationally and internationally, including a solo project “Frances Trombly: Over and Under” at Locust Projects, Miami “Americana: Formalizing Craft” at the Perez Art Museum Miami and at The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, Ridgefield, CT. The mission of Oolite Arts is to support artists and advance the knowledge and practice of contemporary visual arts and culture in South Florida. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore. Oolite Arts strives to be a leader in the South Florida contemporary cultural scene as a creative and learning center, and internationally recognized as a world class cultural center. He hopes his work, which blurs the lines between painting, wall relief and sculptural installation, will give future inhabitants of the neighborhood a glimpse into its past.įrances Trombly is an artist based in Miami. Troy Simmons celebrates Miami’s unique neighborhoods, many of which are being gentrified, by salvaging sections of buildings slated for demolition and transforming them into pieces of art.
